Facing West – free iBook
A one hundred page tribute to some of the most beautiful architecture on Mexican West coast that I had the pleasure to photograph over the last few years.
Free download from iBooks. I recommend opening the link directly from your iPad for hassle free download.
If you are an iPad or Mac owner and use iBooks to read digital publications, you are in good luck. Local photographer, zoologist and conservationist Petr Myska has just self-published Facing West—Homes of the Mexican Pacific, a 105-page tome in which he shares spectacular photographs of one-of-a-kind villas throughout Mexico’s Pacific Riviera. “The natural beauty of Mexican Pacific has kept me busy and happy here for over a decade,” he prefaces.
Originally from the Czech Republic, Myska arrived in Vallarta in 2000 and has developed a variety of projects locally, including Viva Natura, his pocket-sized field guide to the most common amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals of Western Mexico.
Facing West, is beautifully organized by colors: blue representing the sky and ocean; gold making reference to the spectacular sunsets that can be enjoyed here; white representing elegance and a sense of peace. It also features brief videos showcasing his aerial photography, and a tribute to twilight photography, known to photographers as the “blue hour,” a time of day in which many create their finest images.
Best of all, Facing West can be downloaded and enjoyed free of charge. Simply search for it from your iPad’s iBooks app, or click here. You can also download and enjoy the book in your Mac if you have iBooks installed.
